Tented T waves of Hyperkalemia


A 45 yo with h/o DM, HTN, CHF and CRF body malaise and dyspnea.

What is causing this ECG change?


The 12L shows the classic tented T waves of hyperkalemia (best seen in V3-V5).

The laboratory results came back with Creatinine - 20, K - 8.0. Calcium gluconate, D50 with insulin was given and patient was dialyzed (ESRD). Patient was discharge after a few days
